“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16, KJV)

Here you see that Love is not talk but action.  God demonstrated his love by giving.  Loving God will involve giving.  Not just any kind of giving but a sacrificial kind.  Love will make you to give the best.

Paul the Apostle said, I spend and I am spent…2 Corinthians 12:15

I will give God the best of me not the dregs of me. #GiveGodTheBestNotTheDregs

Loving God is a Compulsory course in the school of Manifestations. “And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,” (Deuteronomy 10:12, KJV)

A whole lot of times we are running after strategies and methods to have headway in life.  Both are excellent but without the love of God they amount to nothing.  When you love the Lord, he causes all things to work together for your good.

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.” (Romans 8:28, TAB)

The love of God is the first commandment given to each and every one of us.  If we get his love right everything else will go right for us.

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” (Mark 12:30, KJV)

Everything else that pertains unto life and a glorious living hinges on this first commandment.

When you love God, he knows you and everything about you but if you do not, he knows you from afar.  “But if any man love God, the same is known of him.”  (1 Corinthians 8:3, KJV)

For him to continually keep his own part of the Covenant towards you and show you mercy is dependent on the love that you show towards him.  “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;” (Deuteronomy 7:9, KJV)

“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”  (1 John 4:8, KJV)  If you do not show love then you do not know the extent of the power of God i.e. you are unable to fathom his incomprehensible wisdom to get you out of whatever challenge that you are in.

It is not enough to say that you love God with your mouth but it has to be proven by your unflinching dedication even in the midst of challenges.

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:17-19, KJV)

It is through the continuation of love that you will be filled with his fullness.

How do you demonstrate love?

  1. You feed his sheep—John 21:15-17
  2. You obey his commandments—1 John 2:5
  3. You love the brethren—1 John 3:14-15
  4. You are not fearful—1 John 4:18

What are the benefits of love?

  1. You have unimaginable blessings—1 Corinthians 2:9
  2. You know what to do—1 Corinthians 2:10
  3. You are not forgotten—Hebrews 6:10
  4. You have a blank cheque—1 Kings 3:3a
