“Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion. ” (Isaiah 8:18, KJV)

This Bible passage is simply saying that signs and wonders is the natural identity of every child of God despite situations that seems contrary to this.  What enhances signs and wonders is insight i.e. what God has revealed concerning the situation.

Signs and wonders have two sides to it.  When it is for his people, there is rejoicing and when against the enemies there is mourning.

“And the Lord shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:” (Deuteronomy 6:22, KJV)

On his people:

“He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.” (Daniel 6:27, KJV)

How come he can perform such wonders in your life?  You cannot give what you do not have.  “Such as I have give I thee.” (Acts 3:6, KJV)

  • He is a sign and a wonder:
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6, KJV)
  • His works are a wonder:
“Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.” (Psalm 40:5, KJV)
  • He performs wonders with anyone:
“Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?” (1 Samuel 6:6, KJV)

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:” (Acts 10:34, KJV)

  • He performs wonders anywhere:

“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord swept the sea back by a strong east wind all that night and turned the seabed into dry land, and the waters were divided.” (Exodus 14:21, TAB)

  • Nobody can stop His wonders:

“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1 Corinthians 2:7-8, KJV)
