“Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you [in charge] over all the land of Egypt.” (Genesis 41:41, TAB)
Nothing defines a person like her mentality. As you think so are you. Your thinking irrespective of your situation can set you free or limit you.
In life, our imagination sets the pace—Genesis 11:6, Genesis 13:15, Jeremiah 1:11-12. Until you see it, you cannot seize it. Only those who dare ever deliver. Our thoughts will either make or break us. Mind renewal always leads to transformation. Romans 12:2
You must operate with applied revelation and not just revelation. What you do with what heaven has revealed. Deuteronomy 28:1
When you look at the story of Pharaoh, Joseph and Egypt properly, you begin to see the humor and wisdom of the Almighty. God gave a dream to an unbeliever that only a believer can unravel and execute—Genesis 41:32-41
You are positioned where you are to be a solution therefore stop complaining. See the goodness wherever you are. Apply innovative thinking.
Realize that you are likely to face dungeons in life. A dungeon is a prison. It is a place of incarceration. When any man has a dream of greatness, before the dream becomes a reality there is always a period of great challenges that leaves the dreamer wondering —dungeon experience.
There is no dreamer (achiever) that did not go through a dungeon. A dungeon is a place of preparation and purification before ascending the throne. Not only do some go through dungeons they also come in contact with Dragons, Dracula and even the Devil.
For any man that is destined to wear a diadem, no matter how deep the dungeon there is always a way out.
- Dungeon experience begins with action or inaction
Genesis 37: 19 And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.
20 Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.
Moses killed an Egyptian, started flaunting himself as the messiah (Acts 7:24-25)
- Dungeon is a place of transformation not moulting
Genesis 37: 23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stripped Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him; — stripped of bitterness, boasting, pride
Acts 7:22—Moses learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians
- Dungeon is not a place to struggle nor survive but of reliance
Genesis 37: 24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.
Exodus 2:11-15—Moses looked this way and that way but not to God
- Progress in the dungeon is a prelude to diadem
Genesis 39: 22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.
Exodus 3:1 Took sheep to the backside of the desert
- Dungeon gates will open when you are observant
Genesis 40: 7 And he asked Pharaoh’s officers that were with him in the ward of his lord’s house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day? 8 And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
- Dungeon is a place of test
Genesis 39: 7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
Exodus 3:5 Put off your shoe for where you are is holy ground
You need to stop thinking that, “somebody is after me” or my life is like this because of a “demonic attack.” Truthfully, somebody could be after you and there could be a demonic attack but greater is He that is in you… If God be for you …
It is extremely important for you to realize in that situation that you have treasure in earthen vessel. Your challenges have not left you “treasure-less.”
“ He said, “Then you see how every student well-trained in God’s kingdom is like the owner of a general store who can put his hands on anything you need, old or new, exactly when you need it.” (Matthew 13:52, MSG)
Joseph when called by Pharaoh groomed himself and changed his clothes for where he is going. He did not dress or wear clothes, according to who he was yesterday or who he is at the moment, he dressed according to who he wanted to be. He dressed according to the future he saw.
“You cannot wear prison clothes and looks for palace opportunities.”
Somehow the attitude of Joseph had an air of finality. He prepared as if he was not coming back to prison. He dressed as if he will not wear prison clothes again. When you go for the next opportunity, prepare as if it is already yours. Understand what obtains where you are going. Let them know how equipped you are for the opportunity.
Do not forget that Joseph was a convicted felon at this time. A summons could have meant it is time for your head to be cut off but he treated it like a going away party. Make sure you see the positive in whatever situation you face. Instead of gloom, see glory. No matter the lies of Satan, as Joseph was grooming himself and wearing good clothes, he was able to respond to Satan that I may not know the outcome but I am still getting out of prison.
Satan you thought I was just going to be executed unceremoniously in prison but even if they are going to kill me today, I am still going to meet new people, enter the palace and who knows they could say what will be your last meal. This will be palace food not prison food.
Turn the tide on Satan take away the celebration from him. If God en-graced me to handle the Plot, the Pit, the Potiphar’s house, the Prison, I believe I can now handle the palace.
If the challenges there did not kill me this situation cannot kill me. I have what it takes.
