“Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” (Exodus 33:15, NKJV)
“Listen to me, you islands. Pay attention, you people far away. Before I was born, the LORD chose me. While I was in my mother’s womb, he recorded my name. He made my tongue like a sharp sword and hid me in the palm of his hand. He made me like a sharpened arrow and hid me in his quiver. He said to me, “You are my servant Israel. I will display my glory through you.” But I said, “I have worked hard for nothing. I have used my strength, but I didn’t accomplish anything. Yet, certainly my case is in the LORD’s hands, and my reward is with my God.” (Isaiah 49:1-4, GWT)
God is actively poised to give of himself abundantly to a few and my prayer is that you shall be one of them in Jesus name. The few verses that we have taken from the book of Isaiah are personal verses. It shows how God inspired an individual that is confident in the Lord His God. It demonstrates the utterance of a man of conviction—conviction because this man has been privileged to hear the conversation and declaration of heaven concerning him.
Sometime ago I heard a sweet melody and for a while I had been looking for an individual that will capture and sing out such a melody. On Saturday December 29th, 2007 the spirit of God ministered to me that the song and sweet melody that you heard years ago was the sound of heaven. May you hear the sound of heaven throughout the remainder of the year 2018 in Jesus name. Amen. When a man knows who he is and the one backing him up, you find that the outlook, gaze, gait and walk of such a man changes. May heaven back you up this year in Jesus name.
Your existence till now is a proof that God has awesome things in stock for you. Take away the gloomy look. If you do not change position, God will not change the situation. “Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.” (Isaiah 51:11, KJV) The attempt that you are making to attain excellence shall not kill you. You shall return victorious. There is somebody here today suddenly what represents sorrow and mourning to you has flown away.
There are some instructions from heaven in Isaiah 49 for God to show his power through you. A man that refuses heavenly instruction cannot refuse earthly destruction. It is adherence to instruction that causes global illumination.
This means to make an effort to hear something. To listen is a function of hearing i.e. you use the ear to hear. For your ear to hear implies that they are working. “Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the LORD; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.” (2 Chronicles 24:19, KJV)
God is ready to give you direction but are you willing to make the effort to hear or listen. Lots of time in the midst of difficulties what we need is direction. A man by the name Isaiah was in turmoil at a time because the one that he leaned on passed away suddenly he saw the Lord. He moved from seeing to hearing “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” (Isaiah 6:8, TAB) It is only those that can listen that will get direction.
It is direction that leads to distinctions. Isaiah 48:17, Psalm 23:1, Proverbs 14:12
Why do you need to listen? Because you will hear many things, the devil, the people, the multitude, your flesh but you need to know if it is God speaking. “Doesn’t the ear distinguish sounds..” (Job 12:11, GWT) “Doth not the ear try words..” (Job 12:11, KJV) It is time for you to stop listening to the failure of yesterday or yesteryears. Yesterday is in the tomb, today is in the womb and tomorrow will birth a glorious destiny. “The Almighty Lord will open my ears. I will not rebel, nor will I turn away from him.” (Isaiah 50:5, GWT)
The Lord Almighty wants you to listen so that you can turn away from a life of destruction to a life of distinction.
This is a function of the mind i.e. processing what you hear correctly. “My eye has certainly seen all of this! My ear has heard and understood it.” (Job 13:1, GWT) The ears hear but it is the mind that comprehends. Many hear few understand. The year 2018 was declared as a year of Victories Everywhere. While some have been enjoying the benefits of the pronouncement others have not.
The difference is that some paid attention they decided to use their mind i.e. they processed what they heard correctly. Jesus Christ made a profound pronouncement when he said, “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.” (Matthew 9:17, NLT)
When Jesus wants to make a point he sometimes use illustration that those around him will be able to identify with either because of their trade. Making wine was a common occurrence around the middle east in those days. Every meal is associated with wine. The process of wine making involves harvesting grapes, crushing the grapes. In those days, maidens use the sole of their feet to crush the grapes.
The grapes then become what is called mush. This mush is then prepared for fermentation. Fermentation is a bubbly, foamy, biological process—the turning loose of microorganisms. The beneficial microorganism yeast which conducts the process of fermentation, is added, along with a few specialized nutrients and a lot of sugar for the yeast to eat. This then produce wine. After the wine is made the wine is then allowed to age in wine skins. Aging involves pressure which means the wineskins needs to be good or else it will burst and the wine and effort made would have been wasted. Your effort will not waste in the year 2018 in Jesus name.
What Jesus is trying to say by this illustration is that you cannot put the new thing that I am imparting into your life into old vessels or in another language what I am teaching you can only be understood by a renewal of your mind. “Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (Romans 12:2, NLT)
For things to work for you in the remainder of 2018, you have to throw away the way you did things earlier in the year that resulted in negative outcome. You have to forget the agonies, pains, failures and non-accomplishments of previous months. “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,” (Philippians 3:13, NLT). “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18-19, NLT)
