“The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. You will always be at the top, never at the bottom, if you faithfully obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today.” (Deuteronomy 28:13, NKJV)
One very important thing that we must learn to do is to put our lives and the word of God in proper perspective. It is important in life to always pause and reflect. This allows you to ask the right questions about your life from God in case you feel there is something you do not understand.
Let it be entrenched in your mind that a failed plan does not connote a failed vision. Due to the fact that something did not work now does not mean if it is correctly tweaked and timed it will not work.
You need to be in dominion over your fears. If you do not begin you cannot become. Gain mastery over fear to fulfill the dominion mandate.
An interesting story can be found in Mark 10:46-52. Bartimaeus had to gain mastery over rejection—what if after shouting Jesus did not answer, to regain his sight.
A critical thing that you need to develop about life is the sense of anticipation. This is all about where things would be not where things are. You find out that many people are focused on where things are and they think things will remain there forever.
Though for one reason or the other, Bartimaeus could not go to Jericho but he did not lose hope. Bartimaeus anticipated that Jesus would pass through a particular highway on his way from Jericho.
Your sense of anticipation will overcome any perceived shortcoming that you may think that you have in life. Look at the story of another individual in Luke 19:1-10 called Zacchaeus. He was rich but short. This is always the irony of life. No matter the individual in life, there is always something you either wish you have or that you are aiming for. There is no one person in life that has it all.
He wanted to see Jesus but there were many people and instead of complaining about his height, the Bible tells us that, he ran ahead, climbed into a Sycomore tree because he expected him to pass that way. This was how Jesus located him.
Zacchaeus ran ahead. He left the pack behind. Except some people are part of a herd, they cannot function. They always need affirmation from others to confirm their worth in life.
Many are content to sit still not willing to go ahead because they have not dealt with the, “What if’s of life?”
If you do not deal with the, what if, you will not be able to answer with why not. Anytime what if comes knocking at your door answer with why not.
Anticipation is what separates the great from the mediocre. Any achiever knows how to anticipate. Anticipation is the pathway to accomplishment
Looking at two distinct verses of the scripture that says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (Mark 16:17-18, KJV)
The signs are not expected to follow everybody but a type of people. The types of people are those that believe which further lend credence to seeding or fruiting after a type. What then are the signs?
Cast out devils—Before you can be a deliverer, you must have been delivered. This means that the first demon that needs to be cast out is within. You need to first cast out the demon from within yourself and people will see i.e. it will be evident i.e. the fruit will be visible that you have been delivered from the demon that is plaguing you.
For example despite the fact that Judas was a disciple of Jesus and he went about delivering, he was still possessed with the demon of pilfering or theft.
Stop looking for the evidence be the evidence. Make a decision to be the story in the story of your life.
Recognize the benefits of a sparring partner. The challenges of life are meant to sharpen you. A sparring partner ultimately turns you to a successful puncher. You learn how to punch accurately and with power for maximum impact.
Speak with new tongues—A sign that you are a believer is not necessarily your ability to speak in the proverbial tongues but in your communication, which should be edifying. You cannot continue to curse and use profane language and say Oh shoot to cover it up. The Bible says cursing and blessing must not come from the same mouth. A spring does not bring forth sweet and bitter water.
Take up serpents—The proof of your maturity or a neon light that showcases you as a believer is the ability to take up serpents even amongst Christians. You come across serpents everyday. If you are in doubt about who or what a serpent is, all you need to do is check out the attributes of Lucifer. To take them up does not mean being argumentative or engaging in vitriolic verbal vituperations but knowing what the word of God says concerning any lie or deceit that they might profess. Just like Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God.
If they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them—This simply refers to how you process what you daily encounter. Do you get better or bitter. Some people can be referred to as walking wounded. They are still carrying around the hurt of years ago. What this does to such people is that they become suspicious of everything and everybody. They do not allow the word of God that says your joy shall be full to come into operation. A fact of life is that deadly things will always be around. If you drink it do not let it hurt you.
It is possible that you may have been abandoned by your father, mother or parents when young or a man or woman used / abused you then abandoned you, etc. yes those are deadly things but you should not build a mansion around that occurrence. Move on in the course of your destiny.
The true judgment that you place upon yourself is extremely important. If you believe that you are worthless, you won’t add value to yourself. This is the law of the mirror—as you see yourself so will others see you.
You must see value in yourself to add value to yourself—John Maxwell
They shall lay hands on the sick and the sick will recover—This simply means that you should be a blessing. It is not until you feel blessed that you should be a blessing. Joseph did not wait till he got out of the prison before he started interpreting dreams.
